Sustainability Element and Climate Action Plan (SECAP)
The City has developed a Sustainability Element to the City’s General Plan and a Climate Action Plan. The Sustainability Element aims to incorporate new social, environmental, and economic goals and ideas into the General Plan that focus on the concept of sustainability. More about the Sustainability Element.
The Climate Action Plan is a city planning document that identifies ways in which the community and city can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Looking at four key sectors - energy, waste, transportation, and land use - the CAP will incorporate best practices with public input to produce a blueprint for achieving GHG emissions reduction in Elk Grove and ultimately, to comply with AB 32 and SB 375.
