Civic Center Aquatics Center Public Hearing Set

A civic center aquatics complex will be the subject of a public hearing before the Planning Commission on Thursday, Aug. 21. The Commission, which meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, will hear a presentation and review draft plans for a competition venue and water and adventure park. The competition venue would include an Olympic-caliber competition swimming pool and dive pool, with a signature 10-meter diving tower. Plans for a water and adventure park feature a lazy river, wave pool, zip lines and a family entertainment center. The Commission’s review will also include the draft Environmental Impact Report prepared for the project. Public feedback is encouraged. The draft plans are available at (8400 Laguna Palms Way, Elk Grove, 6:30 p.m.)

The Planning Commission will not call new public hearing items after 10:00 p.m. Items remaining on the agenda after 10:00 p.m. will be continued to the next Planning Commission meeting unless otherwise motioned by the Planning Commission prior to 10:00 p.m.

Notice Regarding Appeals

Pursuant to §23.14.060 of the Zoning Code, appeals of a final action by the Planning Commission must be filed with the City Clerk no later than ten (10) calendar days after the day on which the final action was taken, along with the appropriate fee.

Pursuant to all applicable laws and regulations, including without limitation, California Government Code Section 65009 and/or California Public Resources Code Section 21177, if you wish to challenge in court any of the above decisions (regarding planning, zoning and/or environmental decisions), you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing(s) described in this notice/agenda, or in written correspondence delivered to the city at, or prior to, this public hearing.
