Adopted City of Elk Grove Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan
Old Town Bike Trails Presentation
This is a presentation that was made to the Elk Grove Trails Committee and the Old Town Merchants Association. Both groups supported the reccomended action to modify the proposed bike route in Old Town from a class 2 designation to a class 3 route.

This Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP or Master Plan) identifies existing facilities, opportunities, constraints, and destination points for bicycle users and pedestrians in the City of Elk Grove. This information served as the basis for developing BPMP goals and supporting policies for planning and implementation of bikeway and pedestrian facilities within the public right-of-way. This BPMP includes an implementation program, phasing priorities, and a map showing recommended locations of bicycle and pedestrian paths.

The California Department of Transportation Bicycle Facilities Unit has completed its review of the City of Elk Grove Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (Adoped July 2004) and finds that it complies with the Section 891.2 of the Street and Highway Code.

The Plan allows the City of Elk Grove to be eligible to apply for funds from the Bicycle Transportation Account program.
