Master Planning of the Area South of Elk Grove
The adopted Elk Grove General Plan includes two future study areas, one south of Kammerer Road and the other south of Grant Line Road. The General Plan does not specify the type or intensity of development in either area but calls for further study on the issue.
During the January 24, 2007 meeting, the Elk Grove City Council approved the recommendation that staff begin that study and develop a comprehensive master plan for the two areas. The work will emphasize public participation, and include open space and habitat preservation, environmental analysis, as well as potential urban uses and (if desired) the City may pursue future annexation of the area.
The Council Report provides the background for the study, outlines the planning issues, identifies many of the stakeholders and defines the conceptual scope for the study. The City is anxious to work with all effected stakeholders as it undertakes this master planning process.
