The Trails Committee normally meets on the third Monday of every month at 6:30 P.M. in City Council Chambers at 8400 Laguna Palms Way,

The Trails Committee's duties as assigned by the City Council
include the following:
- Review and provide comments to the Planning Commission on development projects adjacent to or encompassing planned trails and bikeways that are identified in the General Plan, Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan or other City Council-approved master plans in regards to features such as:
- Connectivity with other trails, pedestrian facilities and bikeways;
- Trail and pedestrian ingress/egress to a project site;
- Trail placement and design; and
- Trail signage and striping.
The Committee should not be involved in the architectural design of the project, except where such oversight is necessary to ensure the connectivity of trails through or within a development.
- Review and provide comments to staff on Capital Improvement projects adjacent to or encompassing planned trails and bikeways that are identified in the General Plan, Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan or other City Council-approved master plans in regards to features such as:
- Connectivity with other trails, pedestrian facilities and bikeways;
- Trail and pedestrian ingress/egress to a project site;
- Trail placement and design; and
- Trail signage and striping.
When there is a conflict between the Committee’s comments and the recommendations of the City’s Project Manager on Capital Improvement projects, the Committee’s comments will be applied to the project at the discretion of the City Engineer.
- Provide suggestions and advice to the City Council and/or staff, as appropriate, concerning future trails and bikeway initiatives and/or priority projects.
- Receive suggestions on trails and bikeway issues from the public and advise the City Council and/or staff.
- Coordinate with the Community Services District on the implementation of planned trails.
- Advise staff on trails-related public projects (such as a Trails and Parks Master Plan).

The Trails Committee bids farewell to long-time Committee member Lisa Dixon and welcomes returning Committee member Merwin Rose.
